Breaking! 6 new players join the Hareruya Pros!

Lately in Magic: the Gathering, the existence of pro players have become very important. Pro Tours and Grand Prix are broadcasted live, and people can watch their favorite pro anywhere. Also if you play at a tournament, there is a chance that you can play against your favorite pro, which is one of the exciting moments in this game.

Now, let’s go back to last season and see all the results the marvelous players have built. Can you recognize that there is a trend in the results?

The answer is “South American players”.

 If you look at premium tournament results worldwide, lots of names from South America can be seen at the top players list. The history of Magic will especially remember the remarkable finishes made by Lucas Esper Berthoud at Pro Tour: Aether Revolt, and Paulo Vitor Damo da Rosa at Pro Tour: Hour of Devastation.

Player versus player is the basic format of this game. But when it comes to tuning your deck or building a new deck, having “teams” and communicating with others to gather information is another factor that is very important in this game.

Results may show how strong they are in this game, but they have a strong connection with each other that brings them to the top portion of the pros. Lots of you might remember when Lucas won the Pro Tour, all his teammates were cheering with big smiles!

With the success they had in the team series, lots of players found that teams and community are important aspects in this game.

The South American players had a strong community, and piled great results that gave us big impressions of their team. They were the number one region and team that had the most success and the players can’t take their eyes off of the South Americans.

So today.

We are proud to introduce,

6 outstanding players from South America are going to join the Hareruya Pros!

We will call them the “Hareruya Latin”!

The 6 players are no doubt, the top players in magic with records starting with Pro Tour champion, and World Magic Cup champion! You can see 3 of them have played at the world’s 2017 that only 24 players worldwide were able to qualify. Imagine how high level players are joining Hareruya Pros.

Also they will be playing as Hareruya Latin in the Team Series too!

◆Marcio Carvalho

His resume starts with 14 Grand Prix top 8’s in which he has won 3 of them. Also has 3 Pro Tour top 8’s too! He is very connected with the South American players.

Known to be a limited format expert. Owns the title “Draft Master” of season 2015-2016, which lead him to the World Magic Cup 2016.

◆Lucas Esper Berthould

He starts his career winning the Nationals at Brazil in 2007.

He goes undefeated in the standard portion of Pro Tour: Aether Revolt, and in the finals, defeats his friend, and also a rival Marcio Carvalho, making him champion of Pro Tour. The audience worldwide was moved by seeing the support he had with his fellows.

He is a player that represents Brazil. You might remember him from the finals of Pro Tour: Kaladesh, playing against Shota Yasooka.
