We have finally come to the beginning of the 2018-2019 season and we are excited to announce 6 new additions to the Hareruya Pros from North America that have formed…

Hareruya North America!

Each of the 6 new members have put respectable results in both Pro Tours as well as Grand Prix, so there is no questioning their abilities. As it is known that the World Championships is limited to 24 participants, 4 members of Hareruya North America participated in the 2018 World Championships. We definitely have some of the best players in the world joining Hareruya Pros.

Furthermore, it was these participants who decided on the name “Hareruya North America” for this season’s team series.

So let’s get to the introductions of the 6 players!

If you were asked “Who was the breakout player of the year?” His would definitely be one of the first names that come to mind. John started as a Bronze level pro in the 2017-2018 season and Top 8’d Pro Tour Ixalan! He kept consistently putting up results in Grand Prix and Pro Tours which got him to Platinum level status.

In the last Pro Tour of the season, Pro Tour Magic 25th Anniversary, he was able to top 16 with his teammates Brandon Ayers and Tom Martel, earning him his first ever invitation to the World Championships.

One of America’s powerhouses made his way onto the scene via Magic Online’s PTQ which is arguably one of the hardest ways to qualify. After winning Grand Prix Albuquerque in 2016, he joined Wizards of the Coast’s “Play Design” team and worked on Magic’s development.

After returning as a player in August of 2018, he won Pro Tour Magic 25th Anniversary with his teammates Ben Hull and Gregory Orange. He then continued his climb to Platinum level status and found himself qualified for the World Championship.

Although a bit of a late blooming powerhouse, following his top 4 of Pro Tour Kaladesh, he was able to claim the title of “Rookie of the Year” at the age of 33.

He won Pro Tour Magic 25th Anniversary with his teammates Allen Wu and Gregory Orange. He then continued his climb to Platinum level status and found himself qualified for the World Championship.

As a member of HotSauceGames.com, he is another one of America’s powerhouses that has been battling for a long time as a Gold level pro. He has put up respectable and consistent finishes at various Pro Tours as well as winning Grand Prix San Antonio in 2017.

One of America’s young elite, he was recruited onto Hareruya Hopes in June of 2017.

He started the 2017-2018 season as a Silver level pro and kicked things off by top 8ing Grand Prix Phoenix 2017, followed by decent results in both Pro Tour Rivals of Ixalan and Pro Tour Magic 25th Anniversary, helping him to level up to Gold status. He has now been promoted to the Hareruya Pros for the 2018-2019 season.

Another one of America’s Gold level pros with multiple GP top 8s to his name. Together with his hometown friend John Rolf, they have worked together in various Grand Prix and Pro Tours and have also been on the same teams together.

With a stable and steady run in the 2017-2018 season with good finishes in both Pro Tour Dominaria and Pro Tour Magic 25th Anniversary, he was able to lock up Gold level status again for another year. Following that he decided to join Hareruya Pros with his friend John.


This 6 member team that represents some of the top level players around the world will continue to grow and battle in tournaments around the world as team “Hareruya North America.”
