Occupation / Hobbies outside MTG:
Gaming in general, especially multiplayer games online.
When did you start Magic? Which set? How did you discover the game?
I started with kitchen table magic in 2004 with Champions of Kamigawa. I played my first events in 2008 and took a break from 2012 to 2015 to focus on my studies and “League of Legends” career.
In 2004, my brother went to an initiation day at my local magic club, Woodland Mages. When he got home he sold me some commons he got there for free but it was the best thing I ever bought because Magic is just the best card game and can’t imagine a life without it now!
Previous Achievements
Pro Tour: Top 4 at Pro Tour 25th Anniversary.
Grand Prix: Top 8 at GP Utrecht 2015 (Limited), GP Copenhagen 2015 (Modern), GP Lyon 2015 (Limited), GP Stockholm 2018 (Modern).
Other: 2016 World Magic Cup finalist. Belgian National Champion twice (2009 and 2015).
Who is the Magic player that you respect?
Reid Duke: not necessarily for his skills but his attitude to the game. The way he deals with losses and setbacks in magic is just astonishing. It is very hard to have this mindset on a consistent base, for me as well. Lately when I’m feeling a little bit sad or frustrated in magic I just think, if Reid can act in such an honorable way, why shouldn’t I be able to behave like that.
If you have one, who is your favorite Japanese Player and why?
I don’t have a lot of contact with Japanense players, but I’m so gratefull that Mr. Tomoharu Saito & Hareruya setup a project last year with Hareruya Hopes which gave me the chance to go to more GPs and make my dream come true to become a Gold Level Pro.
Favorite MTG Decks and Card:
Format | Deck | Card |
---|---|---|
Standard | UB《The Scarab God》 | Well, take a guess..《The Scarab God》! |
Modern | 5C Humans | 《Meddling Mage》 |
Legacy | Lands | 《Crop Rotation》 for 《The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale》 |
Favorite MTG Format:
Modern and Sealed.
What got you interested in joining the Hareruya Pros?
As stated above, last year I joined Hareruya Hopes which gave me the opportunity to play more GPs and to achieve my goal of becoming a Gold Level Pro. Now I’m Gold and Hareruya accepted me as a “Hareruya Pros” which is a great honor.
Next goal as Magic player:
I want to become Platinum. I have a decent amount of Pro Points in the last cycle so I have 3 cycles to perform and reach my ultimate goal.
